Cowboys and Cowgirls

Prescott Arizona, my home town, is still a western town.  Our 4th of July parade features so many cowboys and cowgirls!  And of course, their horses.

Prescott was once the territorial capitol of Arizona.  Miners came here to strike it rich.  Ranchers came here for the open plains of the high desert.  And the “cowboy” culture thrived here.  Before heading to Tombstone, Wyatt Earp even spent a little time in Prescott.  So is it any wonder cowboys & working horses still remain here?

Being a “horse photographer,” I’ve had so many unique opportunities to work with some amazing people who still live a lifestyle that many would think is gone and forgotten.  But ranches, cattle herds, and horses are all still here along with the cowboys and cowgirls who work the ranches to this day. When you think of the desert southwest many things come to mind.  The migration west depicted covered wagons, cowboys, bandits, the gold rush, shoot outs, and more.  You will find many of these images in the collection here.
